They say packing is a science. Those who know how to maximize the space of a box without putting the items inside at risk of getting damaged can be considered experts in packing. While this may sound like a simple thing to do, packing takes a lot of skills to do. How can you be good in packing stuffs? Here are a few tips.

1. First, before packing your things, you have to make sure you have excess number of boxes. You will never know if you need another box to store other items that you may have overlooked.

2. Then you should assign a place in your house where you will organize your things. You may call it the Packing Headquarters, where all the packing necessities like boxes, scissors, tapes, and markers are stored. This is also the place where you will gather all the things you will pack.

3. After that you have to be organized. You can use a notebook so you can track each item that you will store inside a particular box. You should list down every item that you will place inside the box. Number each page corresponding to the box. If page number 1 corresponds to box 1 then you would easily identify the said box as that which contains medicines and clothes, for example. This is an easy way for you to identify the items inside the box.

4. Always put the heaviest or strongest item on the bottom. The more fragile items should be on top. Label the box “fragile” so your moving company can segregate it from other boxes.
