Moving out of a house can cause serious troubles to those who do not know how to organize their things properly. We’ve seen and heard incidents of people forgetting essentials when moving in to a new place. This list could be of help to families or even individuals who plan to move in to a new place. Take note of these items which are usually lost with all the hustle and bustle of moving out.
- One of the items usually lost or forgotten when one moves in to a new place is health records. So make sure that when you move out of your place, you have your dental and medical records secured. Keep them in one folder or bag, along with the veterinary records of your pets. Records of immunizations and vaccines should also be kept.
- School records are also likely to be forgotten when a family moves out of a place. Obviously school records are essential documents you should have with you when you move out, especially since these are documents you cannot replace that quickly.
- Phone book is also usually forgotten. You may know important telephone numbers like your relative’s residential number, but do you remember the telephone number of your family doctor? It would be best for you to secure your phone book so you will remain in touch with important personnel and utility providers.
- The address of your new place is also likely to be overlooked. You should keep a couple of cards that indicate the address of your new residence. You can give this to your friends and family members so they’ll be updated on where you are headed.
- Your bank account can also be forgotten. Before you leave, make sure that all the money you have is transferred to a new local bank so you can easily make transactions in your new place.
- If you love your pets and you have plans of taking them with you, you need to make prior arrangements on their transport. Most moving companies do not transport animals so you have to look for alternate arrangements on the transport of your pets. You also need to get information on the veterinary services in your area before you move in.
- Also, when you move out make sure, too, that your former house is cleaned thoroughly. Gather all the spare keys and hand them over to the new house owner.
- Do not forget to leave the garage door opener in your car for your home’s new owner.
- Collect everything you have at the dry cleaners. Believe it or not, many moving people forget to pick them up before the day of the big move.
- Lastly, make sure that you would be handing over all your house keys to your home’s new owner.
